Aberdeen Council-Planning Board Special Joint Meeting

The new developer of the proposed senior complex on Church Street will present plans for a ‘senior campus’ concept to a joint meeting of the Aberdeen Township Council and Planning Board on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. at Aberdeen Town Hall.

At the meeting, which is open to the public, Community Investment Strategies (CIS), Inc. will unveil its plans for a senior campus comprised of affordable senior rental housing, an assisted living community and a recreational center that will be open to all township seniors.

The proposed complex will be built on a 14-acre redevelopment site that formerly housed the South River Metals building. No action on the proposal will be taken by the Council or Planning Board at the meeting.

Established in 1994, CIS is a certified woman-owned business enterprise specializing in multi-family housing, including 55+, senior housing and mixed-use redevelopments. The Lawrenceville-based company’s in-house finance, development, construction and management services are an extension of its commitment to build value-added communities for area residents, municipalities and local businesses by repositioning unproductive properties and land parcels. CIS’ multi-family portfolio includes more than 2,000 apartment-rental units valued in excess of $350 million.
