Agenda: Matawan Council to Appoint New Administrator

The Matawan Borough Council will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

The Matawan Borough Council is expected to vote on the appointment of a new borough administrator at their meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

The previous borough administrator, Barbara Bascom, left her part-time position on July 1, according to Mayor Paul Buccellato. Her contract would have expired at the end of 2012.

In the absence of the borough administrator, the mayor fills the role until a new person is hired.

The borough began interviewing the 27 interested candidates in November 2012.

The council is also expected to consider a resolution authorizing the business administrator to solicit bids for the construction and operation of a cell tower, as well as vote on a resolution objecting to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's recommendation to remove certain areas within the borough from sewer service.
