Affordable Housing Alliance Offers Utility Expense Relief Program

TRUE provides assistance to low and moderate income families.

The Affordable Housing Alliance offers help for utilities expenses for low to moderate income families, through the Temporary Relief for Utility Expenses (TRUE) program.

Funded by the Board of Public Utilities, offers financial help for expenses such as electric and gas for homeowners and renters.

Residents can apply on the TRUE website. Eligibility requires an enlistment in the services of the following utilities companies and any third party company billed through these companies:

  • PSE&G
  • Elizabeth Gas
  • Atlantic City Electric
  • JCP&L
  • South Jersey Gas
  • NJING
  • Rockland Electric

The Affordable Housing Alliance for Monmouth County began in 1991, and develops programs for residents seeking help by supplying shelter, food and daily life expenses. It is a non-profit organization, funded through donations and state, federal and local resources.

The organization provides listings of affordable housing, buying and foreclosure counseling, and works with towns in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties to ensure compliance with the .
