Aberdeen Appoints Township Manager

The Aberdeen Township Council appointed Interim Township Manager and Tax Assessor Holly Reycraft as Township Manager during an executive session at their council meeting Tuesday night. The appointment is effective as of Jan. 1, 2012.

"Let me publicly state how glad we are, how proud we are, how fortunate we are that you have accepted our offer to you to be our town manager," Aberdeen Mayor Fred Tagliarini said to Reycraft during the meeting.

Reycraft, who has worked in local government for nearly 20 years, was named to the interim position earlier this year following the resignation of Township Manager Joseph Criscuolo, who returned to Old Bridge to become the municipality’s Business Administrator. Since that time, she continued to also serve as Aberdeen’s Tax Assessor. Reycraft intends to resign from the Tax Assessor post as soon as a replacement has been named.

“Through her hard work over the past year as interim manager, Holly earned our confidence to make the appointment a permanent one," Tagliarini said.

Reycraft, who holds the Certified Tax Assessor (CTA) designation, joined Aberdeen as Deputy Tax Assessor in April 2006 and was named Tax Assessor in 2007. From 1992 to 2006, she was employed by Freehold Township, starting as an account clerk in the Assessor’s Office and Finance Departments, before being named Assistant Tax Assessor in 1998. From 2002 to 2006, she also served in a part-time capacity as Tax Assessor for the Boro of Manasquan.

A resident of Freehold, Reycraft graduated Suma Cum Laude from Kean University with a bachelor’s degree in public administration. She is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Public Administration at Kean.
