Two Vehicle Accident on Route 35 Injures Pedestrian

An Aberdeen man was transported to the hospital after being hit by a car, according to police

A pedestrian was transported to the hospital after a two vehicle accident sent one vehicle onto the sidewalk along Route 35 in Aberdeen Sunday evening.

According to Chief of Police John Powers, Serguei Venikob, 49, of Brooklyn was traveling north at about 8:20 p.m. in a 2010 Toyota Camry in the left lane of traffic approaching Amboy Avenue when he changed lanes.

While moving into the right land, Venikob struck a 2004 Toyota Camry operated by Vismit Parikh, 48, of Aberdeen, Powers said. Parikh's wife was also in the vehicle.

After being struck, Parikh's vehicle jumped the curb and hit 37-year-old Vdkrishna Siddhani, of Aberdeen, who was walking near the .

Siddhani was treated on the scene by South Aberdeen EMS and a MONOC paramedic. He was transported to Bayshore Community Hospital for scrapes and abrasions and a head injury, Powers said. No other injuries were reported.

Venikob was issued a summons for unsafe lane change.
