Two Old Bridge Residents Found Guilty of Official Misconduct

Two former employees of the New Brunswick Parking Authority were convicted  of official misconduct on Monday for failing to report or prevent the theft of thousands of dollars in parking fees, according to a press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.

According to the release, Emil Hanna, 57, and Emad Naguib, 50, both of Old Bridge, face maximum prison sentences of 10 years in state prison with mandatory minumum terms of five years without parole.

Hanna previously worked as a security sergeant for the Parking Authority and Naguib was a security officer. Between the dates of July 1, 2007 and June 15, 2010, the duo failed to "report or prevent thefts committed by other employees," according to the release.

Hanna was acquitted of 12 additional charges, and Naguib was found not guilty of 10 counts. The charges included official misconduct, theft and misapplication of entrusted property, the release said.

The sentencing for the two men is set for March 25, according to the Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation was handled by Cpt. J.T. Miller and Det. Amish Shah of the New Brunswick Police Department and Lt. Daniel Del Bagno and Investigator Donald Heck of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, the release said.
