Teen Charged with DWI After Early Morning Accident on Lloyd Road

The accident damaged a utility poll, causing Cambridge Drive to be closed Thursday

An Aberdeen teenager was charged with driving while intoxicated after a one-vehicle accident at 1:52 a.m. Thursday.

Police say Jason P. Mettrock, 18, was driving a 2002 Chrysler Sebring on Lloyd Road near the intersection of Cambridge Drive, traveling away from Route 34, when he crossed over the double yellow line and struck a utility pole near Lloyd Road School.

The pole was broken in half, causing Cambridge Drive to be closed throughout the day.

Mettrock was alone in the car and was not hurt during the accident, according to Chief of Police John Powers.

Mettrock was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and unlicensed driver.

P.O. Raymond Campbell was the investigating officer. Aberdeen Township Hose and Chemical Company also responded to the scene.
