Sheriff's Office Accepting Applications for Citizen Police Academy

13-hour block of instruction gives an overview of law enforcement services in Monmouth County.

The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for enrollment in the 15th Annual Citizen Police Academy, Sheriff Shaun Golden announced Tuesday.

The program well be held at the Monmouth County Police Academy on Thursdays from Oct. 6 to Nov. 17 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Citizen Police Academy is a 13-hour block of instruction designed to give attendees an overview of law enforcement services in Monmouth County and features presentations by municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Applications are available to Monmouth County residents age 18 or old older who have no criminal record. The deadline for applying is Monday, Sept. 12. Enrollment is limited for the free course.
