Police: Two Charged with Shoplifting from Cliffwood A&P

A look at police activity in Aberdeen between April 10 and April 23, 2013.

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 623 calls for service between April 10 and April 23, 2013, including 13 suspicious persons/vehicles; 31 alarms; 41 first aid calls; 19 motor vehicle crashes; nine thefts; eleven domestic violence incident, seven disorderly persons, two assault, three burglaries, eleven noise complaints, and 181 motor vehicle stops, according to Police Chief John Powers. Officers also issued 135 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests April 10, 2013 through April 23, 2013: 

  • Sgt. Matthew Lloyd arrested a 25-year-old Old Bridge woman on a contempt warrant out of Hazlet municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Lloyd Rd. on April 11.
  • On April 11 Det. Louis Nanna arrested a 14-year-old township youth for burglary and theft that took place on Atlantic Ave. on April 9. 
  • On April 11 P.O. Vito Turchiano and P.O. Mary Johnston arrested an 18-year-old township man for distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia on Atlantic Ave.
  • P.O. John Zeller arrested a 21-year-old Staten Island woman for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on April 13.
  • P.O. Raymond Campbell arrested a 20-year-old Aberdeen man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Hwy. 35 on April 13.
  • Christopher T. Wohlman, 27, Bayonne, was charged with driving while intoxicated, improper maintenance of lamps, failure to wear a seatbelt and reckless driving following a motor vehicle stop on South Concourse on April 14.  P.O. Raymond Campbell was the arresting officer. 
  • P.O. Raymond Campbell arrested a 31-year-old Aberdeen woman on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on April 15.
  • Sgt. Matthew Lloyd arrested a 43-year-old Aberdeen woman on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on April 15. 
  • On April 15 Sgt. Hank Chevalier arrested a 38-year-old Cliffwood Ave. man for contempt of court warrants out of Monmouth County Superior Court and Aberdeen municipal court.
  • Sgt. Matthew Lloyd arrested a 34-year-old Hazlet man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on April 16.
  • Lynne A. Trevisano, 44, and Ruben Vasquez, 45, both Perth Amboy, were charged with shoplifting at the A & P store, Hwy. 35, on April 17.  P.O. Michael Lasko was the arresting officer.
  • P.O. Frank Maisano arrested a 54-year-old Aberdeen woman on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on April 17.
  • A 34-year-old Matawan Ave. woman was arrested for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court and resisting arrest by P.O. Frank Maisano on April 17.
  • P.O. Anthony Marone arrested a 35-year-old Aberdeen man for violation of a court order on April 19 related to an incident on West Prospect Ave. on April 18.  P.O. Michael Lasko conducted the initial investigation.
  • Robert C. Percodani, 21, Aberdeen, was charged with shoplifting at the A & P store, Hwy. 35, on April 19.  P.O. Michael Lasko was the arresting officer.
  • On April 19 P.O. Matthew McDow arrested a 19-year-old Matawan man for possession of drug paraphernalia on Hwy. 34.
  • On April 21 P.O. Christopher DeSarno arrested a 45-year-old Salem Place man for a contempt of court warrant out of Monmouth County Superior Court.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko arrested a 45-year-old Aberdeen woman on a contempt warrant out of Matawan municipal court on April 21.
  • Maria Vitale, 78, of Haven Drive, Matawan, was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to maintain lane, uninsured motorist, failure to exhibit documents, and reckless driving after a motor vehicle crash on Cliffwood Ave. on April 21.  P.O. Craig Hausmann investigated with assistance from P.O. Anthony Marone.
  • A 27-year-old Keyport man was arrested for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court by P.O. Darryl Richardson on April 22.
  • Sgt. Raymond Sosa arrested a 30-year-old Helmetta woman on a contempt warrant out of Marlboro municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Matawan Ave. on April 23.  She was also charged with driving while suspended.
  • Ben L. Becker, Jr, 22, Old Bridge, was charged with driving while intoxicated, unsafe lane change, and reckless driving following a motor vehicle stop on Lloyd Rd. on April 23.  P.O. John Zeller was the arresting officer.
