Police Investigate Burglaries in Strathmore Area Homes

Two burglaries were reported Monday in the D-Section, police say

Aberdeen Township Police are investigating the burglaries of two homes on Deerfield Lane in Strathmore on Monday, Sept. 12.

The first burglary was reported at approximately 11:00 a.m. by the homeowners who had left the residence for a short period, according to Chief of Police John Powers.

When they returned they discovered the home had been entered through a front window. The residents reported a laptop computer and jewelry were taken.

Responding officers searched the area with the assistance of Monmouth County Sheriff’s Officer Jay Aretino and his K-9, Ari.

The second burglary was reported at approximately 3:35 p.m. the same day, when a resident returned home.

According to Chief Powers, it appears that the second home was also entered through a front window.

Proceeds of the second burglary are undetermined at this time.

Police urge residents to report any suspicious activity. Anyone with information should contact the detective bureau at 732-566-2054.
