Police: Aberdeen Man Caught Using Tire Iron to Enter Cliffwood Beach Home

When officers arrived at the house, the man was allegedly attempting to break in using a flashlight and a tire iron.

An Aberdeen man was arrested by township police Monday after officers allegedly observed him using a tire iron and flashlight to break into a Cliffwood Beach home. 

According to Chief John Powers, Jeremy P. Weaver, 31, of Elmwood Drive was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal attempt in relation to the late-night incident.

At about 11:45 p.m. on Feb. 18, Aberdeen Township Police responded to a report of a person attempting to enter a South Councourse residence.

P.O. John Zeller arrived and saw Weaver in a yard using the tools in an attempt to gain entry to the home, Powers said. Zeller scaled a fence and with the assistance of P.O. Raymond Cambell, took Weaver into custody.

Weaver was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of $10,000 bail, according to Powers.
