Police: Aberdeen Man Arrested for Alleged Burglaries, 4 Others Facing Drug Charges

The arrest of an alleged car burglar following a pedestrian stop in Holmdel led to four drug arrests.

A pedestrian stop in Holmdel led to the arrest of an alleged car burglar and brought police to the Holmdel Motor Inn, where four people were arrested on drug charges.

Edward Parker, 20, of Lloyd Road in Aberdeen was arrested last Tuesday after a Holmdel officer stopped Parker while he was crossing Route 35. Parker was allegedly connected to car burglaries in Middletown and credit card fraud in several towns around the county.

Holmdel police said Parker was in possession of credit cards stolen from cars in Middletown, which were used in Holmdel, Hazlet, Eatontown and Middletown.

Parker was charged fraudulent use of a credit card, credit card theft, theft by deception, forgery and hindering his own apprehension.

Further investigation revealed Parker was staying at the Holmdel Motor Inn, where police arrested four people on drug charges and recovered stolen electronic items.

Randy Eckensberger, 21 of Newtown was charged with possession of heroin, cocaine and marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Two other men and one 18-year-old woman were arrested on marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession charges.

Parker was brought to the Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $40,000. Parker also had an active warrant from the county sheriff for failing to appear in court, which added $35,000 bail. 

Eckensberger and the three men facing marijuana possession charges were  processed and released. 

Investigating officers were Sgt. Thomas Durdack, Detective Sgt. Louis Torres, Detective Eric Hernando and Patrolwoman Erin McGrath.
