Perth Amboy Man Indicted on Matawan Burglary Charges

Police say he entered a Miriam Drive home while the residents were on vacation

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict a Perth Amboy man on charges that he broke into a Matawan home.

Police say that Luis Miguel Valdez-Blanco, 19, unlawfully entered a house on Miriam Drive through a window while the homeowners were away on vacation.

According to Lt. Ben Smith, a on Mar. 3 at about 5:25 p.m. after they noticed the front window of the home was open and that the window screen was on the front lawn. Over $500 worth of jewelry was reported missing.

Fingerprints taken from the scene by Det. Joe Lovallo were processed by the NJ State Police and were determined to be a match fo Valdez-Blanco, who was then arrested by Lovallo and Det. Steve Sakowski, .

Valdez-Blanco is charged with one count of burglary and one count of theft of movable property. Both are third degree crimes.
