Pedestrian Struck Sunday While Crossing Route 35 at Amboy Avenue

He was treated for a leg injury after the accident, police said.

A Laurence Harbor man was struck while crossing Route 35 in Aberdeen at Amboy Avenue on Sunday afternoon, according to Aberdeen Police Chief John Powers.

Shortly after 12 p.m. on Feb. 17, a 2007 Mercedes Benz was making a left turn from Amboy Avenue to travel south on Route 35 when a man with a bike was struck while attempting to cross the highway.

The cyclist, identified as 68-year-old Sannuel North, suffered a minor leg injury and was transported by a MONOC ambulance to the hospital for treatment, Powers said.

The driver of the Mercedes, identified as Merlyn Edwin-Ezepue, 52, of Amboy Avenue in Aberdeen, had a green left turn arrow at the time of the accident, Powers explained.

No summons have been issued at this time.
