Parkway Accident Slows Traffic Near Exit 120

One accident victim will be flown by helicopter to the hospital, police say

One person will be medevaced by NJ State Police following an accident involving at least two vehicles on the northbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway Friday afternoon.

Shortly after 2 p.m., about five cars near milemarker 121 in Old Bridge were involved in collisions, according to NJ State Police. It is unclear at this time if they were involved in the same accident or separate accidents.

The victim to be flown to the hospital was entrapped in the vehicle following the accident. The victim complained of chest pains, however the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time, NJ State Police said.

The conditions and identities of the other drivers are currently unknown, however no injuries are considered life-threatening, NJ State Police said.

The accident slowed traffic traveling north near exit 120 in Matawan and delays are expected to continue while the helicopter lands to transport the victim and the damaged vehicles are removed from the scene.
