Medevac Helicopter Transports Matawan Man After Fall From Ladder

William Peterson, of Fredwood Place, fell from a ladder at his home Monday

A Matawan man was transported by a Medevac helicopter to the hospital after a fall from a ladder Monday afternoon, Matawan Lt. Ben Smith said.

William Peterson, of 12 Fredwood Place, was working on his house when he slipped and fell between twelve and fifteen feet off of the ladder and landed on his back on the ground at about 5 p.m., according to Smith. His age was not immediately known.

Peterson suffered head, neck and back injuries from the fall.

Matawan Borough Police Sgt. Patrick Walker, Officer Sean McCabe and Officer Eric Budelmann in addition to the Matawan Borough Fire Department, Keyport First Aid and the Monmouth-Ocean Hospital Service Corporation (MONOC) all responded to the scene.

Peterson was transported to the parking lot of St. Clement Roman Catholic Church where a Medevac helicopter landed and then transported him to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
