Matawan Police Urge Drivers to Stay Off Roads as Snow Falls
Winter weather advisory in effect until 5 p.m. Tuesday
The Matawan Police Department took to Facebook Tuesday morning to urge drivers to remain off the roads as snow falls.
Residents should not drive "unless you absolutely have to," the post reads.
Schools in the Matawan-Aberdeen regional district closed in advance of the snow, which could total 2 to 4 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
In addition, all after school activities for Tuesday are canceled.
Snowfall may be heavy at times and last into the afternoon, impacting travel later in the day, the service said.
The winter weather advisory is scheduled to end at 5 p.m.
