The Matawan Borough Police Department have charged a Hazlet man with sexually assaulting a teenager on several occassions over the last year, according to Lt. Ben Smith.
Robert Schwarz, 45, is accused of sexual assault and sexual penetration of a 15-year-old male between July 2011 and May 2012. He was charged with second degree aggravated sexual assault and third degree endangering the welfare of a child on Saturday, May 26.
The victim's father reported the situation to police, according to Smith. Schwarz knew the family but is not a relative, Smith said.
In July 2006, Schwarz was convicted on charges he committed a sexual offense and aggravated assault.
Schwarz was committed to Monmouth County Correctional Institution. Bail was set at $200,000 to be posted in full.
Det. Steve Sakowski was the investigating officer.
