Matawan Men Robbed Driver at Gunpoint, Indictment Charges

Incident occurred on July 31, according to court records

Two Matawan men robbed a delivery man at gunpoint with an illegal weapon, a Monmouth County grand jury indictment charges.

The men, David A. Perez III and Dior K. Slade, both 21, are charged with threatening their victim with a handgun during a July 31 robbery, according to the indictment signed by Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

The pair allegedly robbed a Domino’s Pizza driver of money and a cell phone while he was walking to his car following a delivery at the Barrington Gardens apartment complex, according to an NJ.com report.

Grand jurors found there is enough evidence to charge the men with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon by having a handgun without a permit, the indictment states.

Both men have been lodged in the Monmouth County Jail since the incident, according to department of corrections records.
