Matawan Man Indicted for Allegedly Attempting to Use a Fake Prescription at CVS

The Grand Jury handed up the indictment Nov. 16

A Monmouth County Grand Jury voted Wednesday to indicat a Matawan for forgery, uttering a forged instrument and attempted obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud.

All are third degree crimes.

Police say that Brian Vacante, 34, attempted to fill a fraudulant prescription for Xanax and/or Vicoden on Aug. 26 at the CVS Pharmacy in Aberdeen Township. The indictment alleges that Vacante knowingly altering a New Jersey prescription without authorization.

The Grand Jury's vote does not determine guilt or innocence, only that charges may be brought against the people named in the indictment.
