Matawan Fire Department's Annual Coin Toss is This Weekend

Funds raised are used to purchase new equipment, make repairs, pay for training and purchase necessary supplies such as bottled water

The Matawan Borough Fire Department will conduct their annual coin toss this weekend.

On Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, May 20 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., firefighters will be at the intersection of Broad Street and Route 34 and the intersection of Main Street and Route 34. On Sunday, firefighters will also be located at the intersection of Mill Road and Route 79.

Anyone passing by is welcomed to donate to the fire department by dropping coins in boots carried by firefighers at the intersection.

All of the donations, big or small, will help the fire department to purchase new equipment, to maintain equipment, to provide ongoing training to volunteers and to help pay for emergency supplies needed at the scene of a fire such as bottles of water.
