Man Who Allegedly Fled From Aberdeen Police Indicted

Jahid Grenfell faces resisting arrest and cocaine possession charges.

A Laurence Harbor man who allegedly fled from an Aberdeen Township police officer in December was indicted on Thursday.

Jahid Grenfell, 24, faces one charge of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance and one charge of fourth-degree resisting arrest.

Police say Jahrid Grenfell, who was 23 at the time of the arrest, was in a vehicle on Seawood Drive at about 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12 when Patrolman Michael Lasko stopped him and asked for identification. Lasko discovered Grenfell had an outstanding warrant. When he attempted to arrest Grenfell, the Laurence Harbor man allegedly fled the scene.

Several other officers responded to the scene to assist in apprehending Grenfell, police said. Grenfell was arrested soon after on Brookside Avenue and was allegedly found with cocaine.
