Cliffwood Beach man accused of eluding Aberdeen police officer

A Cliffwood Beach man was charged with eluding police after he allegedly ignored an officer’s signal to pull over the vehicle he was driving.

Christoph Kostelnik, 46, who police said was driving with a suspended license and had a warrant out for his arrest, was traveling within Aberdeen on Nov. 1 when he failed to follow the directions of Officer Frank Maisano, according to the complaint file in Aberdeen Municipal Court.

Although Maisano signaled for Kostelnik to bring the vehicle to a full stop, he allegedly refused to cooperate, according to the complaint.

Kostelnik allegedly drove past “several” streets while ignoring the officer, eventually pulling into his home’s driveway and attempting to enter the residence, according to the complaint.

Authorities lodged Kostelnik in the Monmouth County Jail on $5,000 bail, no 10 percent option, but he has since been released from custody, according to inmate records.
