Man Charged with DWI After Crash on South Concourse in Aberdeen

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 272 calls for service between March 13 and March 19, 2013.

Officers responded to or initiated 272 calls for service between March 13 and March 19, 2013, including ten suspicious persons/vehicles; 20 alarms; 16 first aid calls; seven motor vehicle crashes; three thefts; two domestic violence incidents, two disorderly persons, four assaults, and 78 motor vehicle stops, according to Police Chief John Powers. Officers issued 71 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests March 13, 2013 through March 19, 2013:

  • Jason T. Finnerty, 38, Carteret, was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving following a motor vehicle crash on South Concourse on March 13.  P.O. Frank Maisano, P.O. Brian Alberti, and Sgt. Matthew Lloyd investigated.

  • P.O. John Zeller arrested a 23-year-old Toms River man on a contempt of court warrant out of Toms River municipal court on March 13.

  • P.O. Frank Maisano arrested a 45-year-old Aberdeen man on a contempt warrant out of Monmouth County Superior Court following a motor vehicle stop on Cliffwood Ave. on March 17.

  • P.O. Raymond Campbell arrested a 49-year-old Carteret man on a contempt warrant out of Monmouth County Superior Court following a motor vehicle stop on Lower Main St. on March 17.

  • P.O. Raymond Campbell arrested a 37-year-old Matawan man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Lower Main St. on March 18.

  • P.O. John Young arrested a 24-year-old Monroe woman on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on March 19.

  • On March 19 a 37-year-old township man was charged with making false public alarms after he made several false 9-1-1 calls.  P.O. Anthony Marone was the arresting officer.

  • Special Officer Michael Scarpa arrested a 23-year-old Paterson man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on March 19.

  • On March 13 P.O. Gus Grivas investigated a report of an assault on Beaver Place.

  • On March 13 P.O. Frank Maisano responded to a report of an assault on Overlook Circle.

  • P.O. Gus Grivas responded to a crisis intervention call at the Aberdeen Counseling Center, Hwy. 34, on March 14.

  • P.O. John Young took a report of harassing phone calls on County Rd. on March 16.

  • On March 18 P.O. John Young responded to a report of the theft of a cell phone at the train station, Atlantic Ave.

  • P.O. Mary Johnston and P.O. Michael Lasko investigated a report of a suspicious person on Idlebrook Lane on March 18.

  • On March 19 P.O. Michael Lasko took a theft report at the BP gas station, Hwy. 34.

  • P.O. John Young responded to a report of an assault on Atlantic Ave. on March 19.

  • On March 19 a Smith Ct. resident reported harassing phone calls.  P.O. Anthony Marone took the report.
