Middletown Man Charged with Aberdeen Car Burglaries

Both alleged burglaries occurred Saturday, police say.

A Middletown man is charged with the alleged burglary of two Aberdeen cars over the weekend, according to Police Chief John Powers.

At about 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 7, a Cambridge Drive resident reported seeing a man reaching into his wife's car window, which was parked in the driveway, according to Powers. Later that afternoon, a Lloyd Road resident reported a similar incident a gave a description to police.

Keenan Johnson, 22, of Middletown matched the description and was taken into custody on Lloyd Road, according to Powers.

Bail was set at $15,000 with a 10 percent cash option. He was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of bail, according to Powers.

Officer Darryl Richardson was the arresting officer, with assistance from Officer Gus Grivas and Sgt. Raymond Sosa.

An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
