Keyport Man Arrested on Theft Charges

Police say he removed furniture from an apartment complex, among other items.

A Keyport man is facing theft charges after he allegedly removed several items from a common area in the Broad Street apartment complex where he lives.

Police say that Aaron Smith, Jr., 47, took two wooden rocking chairs, two metal folding chairs, seven couch pillows, a brass lamp, seasonal decorations and a potted plant from Bethany Manor Apartments.

According to police documents, Smith also allegedly took a bicycle seat, tire and rim the same day from a separate victim.

Smith was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 6 around 12:30 in the afternoon. He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Monday, Dec. 10.
