'Jaws of Life' Used to Cut Off Car Roof at National Night Out in Matawan
The Matawan Borough Fire Department and the Advanced Services Unit of the Matawan Borough Police Department used a variety of tools to cut apart a car during an extrication drill Tuesday.
The drill was part of Matawan's National Night Out celebration at the Police Department on Main Street Tuesday. Residents of all ages enjoyed chatting with police officers and emergency responders while children climbed through fire trucks and the Kidz On The Go playhouse.
The community event was part of a nationwide initiative designed to fight crime by fostering relationships between the community and the police department as well as encouraging neighborliness.
