Four Men Indicted on Charges Stemming from April Drug Bust in Matawan

Police say over six pounds of marijuana were seized from a Freneau Avenue home in April.

Four men were indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury Tuesday on charges stemming from a drug bust on Freneau Avenue in Matawan, according to court documents.

On April 26, the Matawan Police Department executed a search warrant at a Freneau Avenue home at about 3:30 p.m., Sgt. Thomas Falco told Patch in April. Police seized $10,000 in cash, over six pounds of marijuana, 13 grams of cocaine, five glass smoking pipes, an imitation handgun and a 600,000 volt stun gun from the home, Falco said. Scales and packaging materials used for distribution of narcotics were also found at the home. Police also seized a 1995 Honda Civic.

Joey Sieredzinksi, 21, of Matawan; Daniel Mattis, 22, of Rumson; and Jerelle Medford, 23, of Brooklyn were indicted on one count of fourth degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance for allegedly being in possession of over 50 grams of marijuana. An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that a jury voted that there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
