Downed Power Line Causes Outages in Matawan, Aberdeen and Keyport

A main line was down early Monday morning at the intersection of Little and Atlantic. Power has been restored

About 1300 power outages were reported throughout Matawan, Aberdeen and Keyport early Monday morning, according to a map on the JCP&L website.

A main power line near the intersection of Little Street and Atlantic Avenue in Matawan came down, which caused the outages, said Aberdeen Chief of Police John Powers. It is unknown at this time what caused it to come down.

Drivers were detoured around the area while JCP&L repaired the wires. Aberdeen resident and commuter Pat Noble told Patch that the power outages had no effect on early morning trains.
