Don't Drive on Closed Roads, Local Officials Warn

If a roadway is closed, don't try to drive on it, Matawan-Aberdeen's Community Emergency Response Team warned Friday in a Facebook post. 

"If a road is closed due to flooding - turn around," the post reads. "The barricades are there to keep you safe!"

Accompanying the post is a photo of Lakeshore Drive in Cliffwood Beach, where at least two vehicles have gotten stuck in water Friday.

"There are barricades in place and drivers are still choosing to drive around them," the CERT post reads.
