CVS Closed After Electrical Fire

The CVS in Aberdeen on South Atlantic will be closed until the electrical panels can be replaced.

The CVS in Aberdeen remains closed due to a fire yesterday that started in the store's electrical panels, according to Store Manager Kathleen Martinez

Martinez said that when power was restored around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, there was a surge in the electrical panels that caused them to catch fire.

Employees and shoppers were evacuated and no one was injured, Martinez said. The fire was contained to the electrical panels and no merchandise was lost.

Martinez was stationed at the store Thursday, directing customers to the nearest pharmacies.

"Our community has been really great. We're trying to take care of our patients by sending them over to our other local stores," she said.
