Connecticut Man Indicted for Alleged Armed Robbery of Aberdeen CVS

Investigators say he threatened pharmacy employees in order to obtain oxycodone pills.

A New Jersey grand jury voted to indict a Connecticut man Tuesday on charges that he used an airsoft gun to rob an Aberdeen pharmacy in August.

Police say that Matthew R. Pagliaro, 25, of Branford, CT, went into CVS on South Atlantic Avenue at about 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 3 and approached the pharmacy counter. He allegedly passed a note to an employee saying that he was armed with a gun and was demanding oxycodone pills. Pagliaro then allegedly showed the employee the gun, which investigators later determined was an airsoft gun. He was given the pills and left the store.

Police were called to the scene and officers broadcast a description of the suspect's car over the radio. A volunteer firefighter noticed the Prius on Church Street. He notified police and the suspect was taken into custody.

An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that a jury decided there was enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
