Cliffwood Man Indicted on Theft, Burglary and Drug Possession Charges

Investigators say the man stole prescription drugs and cash from three separate vehicles parked in Aberdeen.

A New Jersey grand jury voted Wednesday to indict a Cliffwood man on multiple burglary, theft, and possession charges.

Investigators say that on May 11, Christian Mead, 23, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen Township, broke into three separate vehicles in Aberdeen. From two cars he allegedly stole oxycodone and from a third car he allegedly stole $200 in cash.

Mead is charged with eight counts in total, including three counts of third degree burglary, two counts of third degree theft of movable property, one count of fourth degree theft of movable property and two counts of third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that a grand jury voted that there was enough evidence to proceed with a trial.

Mead was also recently arrested in Matawan and charged with allegedly stealing jewelry on Aug. 27 from a Forrest Avenue residence where he was staying as a guest.
