Devante Jones, 19, of Cliffwood was indicted this week on charges of eluding police after an August police chase which spanned from Howell to Aberdeen.
The chase eventually ended with his being apprehended following a foot pursuit in Aberdeen, according to police.
According to Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd, Jones was observed by Cpl. Fred Bauer to be driving his 2012 Toyota in a reckless manner. After Jones refused to stop he lead officers on a multi-department chase up Rt. 9 through Freehold, Manalapan and Marlboro before Bauer stopped his chase.
Dodd said the Aberdeen Police Department then picked up the chase. After attempting to get out of the car and flee on foot Dodd said Jones was arrested in Aberdeen.
Jones was indicted on eluding charges in Howell, Freehold, Manalapan, Marlboro and Aberdeen for knowingly fleeing police, a second degree crime.
