Cliffwood Beach Man Indicted on Charges of Marijuana Possession and Distribution

Investigators say he sold marijuana on several occasions within 500 feet of Cliffwood Beach Park

A Monmouth County grand jury voted Wednesday to indict a Cliffwood Beach man on sixteen marijuana possession and distribution charges.

Investigators say that Erik Williams, 24, possessed and distributed marijuana on four separate occassions in January, February and March of 2012 to an undercover detective within five hundred feet of Cliffwood Beach Park.

Williams is charged with four counts of fourth degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, four counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, four possession of a controlled dangerous substance within 500 feet of a public park, and four counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within 500 feet of a public park.

An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that the charges may be brought to trial.
