The Sept. 21 accident involved one vehicle

A 4-year-old child was taken to the hospital after an accident Wednesday on Cliffwood Avenue in Aberdeen.

Police say that Sohil Maradia, 20, of Aberdeen was charged with careless driving and improper child restraint after the 2002 Chrysler he was driving struck a utility pole on Sept. 21 at 8:17 a.m. Maradia is the child's uncle, according to Aberdeen Chief of Police John Powers.

The child was taken to Bayshore Community Hospital for a head injury, and was later transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for further evaluation, according to Powers.
