Almost $2K Worth of Power Tools Reported Stolen From Bagel Hut, Police Say

A look at recent police activity in Aberdeen Township.

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 545 calls for service between July 10 and July 23, 2013, according to Police Chief John Powers. The incidents included 31 suspicious persons or vehicles, 52 alarms, 36 first aid calls, 21 motor vehicle crashes, ten thefts, nine domestic violence incidents, five disorderly persons, nine noise complaints, one assault, two burglaries, one criminal mischief incident and 168 motor vehicle stops. Officers also issued 125 motor vehicle summonses.

Harassment

Officer Darryl Richardson responded to a report of harassment at the Delta gas station on Route 34 on Wednesday, July 10.

On Saturday, July 13, Officer Anthony Marone responded to a report of harassment at the Wendy’s on Route 35.

Robbery, Theft & Burglary

A pizza delivery man was robbed by a man with a ski mask who flashed a handgun on Saturday, July 13 after completing a delivery on Nathan Court.

A license place was reported stolen from a residential vehicle parked on Raritan Street on July 17. Officer Craig Hausmann took the report.

About $1,900 worth of power tools were reported stolen from Bagel Hut on Route 34 sometime during the night of July 18. Officer John Zeller responded.

Gallo’s Wine Cellar on Route 34 reported that on July 20, a man stole beer and fled from the store on foot. Officer Gus Grivas investigated.

On July 23, two unlocked vehicles parked at Tree Haven III apartments on Aberdeen Road were reportedly entered overnight. An iPod, cash and an ATM card were reported missing. Officer Michael Lasko responded.

A resident of Chelsea Village apartments, formerly of Matawan Terrace on Cross Road, reported someone entered her vehicle during the night and took a cell phone, sunglasses and loose change. Officer John Young investigated.

A Shore Concourse resident reported that sometime over a two-week period someone attempted to gain entry into his tool trailer. Officer John Young took the report.

Vandalism

A Seawood Drive resident reported on Saturday, July 13 that someone flattened two over her vehicle tires overnight. Officer Gus Grivas responded. 

Fraud 

A Winchester Court resident reported on July 16 that someone fraudulently used her debit card. Officer Mary Johnston responded. 

An Avondale Lane resident reported the fraudulent use of her ATM card on July 19. Officer Gus Grivas responded.

Suspicious Person

Officer Michael Plant investigated a report of a suspicious person on Line Road on July 16.
