Aberdeen Woman Indicted for Distribution of Marijuana, Oxycodon

The Grand Jury handed up the indictment Aug. 22

A Monmouth County Grand Jury voted Monday to indict an Aberdeen woman for two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, two counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's office.

Police say that Rachel Dancyger, 19, sold marijuana to an undercover detective from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office on Jan. 5 in Matawan Borough, resulting in the first count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and the first count of distribution of a controlled substance.

Both are fourth degree crimes.

According to the indictment, Dancyger also sold oxycodone to an undercover detective from the Prosecutor's Office in Aberdeen Township on April 14, resulting in the second count of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and the first count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Police say that on April 14, Dancyger was in possession of more than one ounce of oxycodone, resulting in the second count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to sell.

All three are third degree crimes.

The Grand Jury's vote does not determine guilt or innocence, only that charges may be brought against the people named in the indictment.
