Both incidents reported by Aberdeen police happened on Dec. 21

Aberdeen police in late-December responded to two crashes involving drivers who allegedly were drunk behind the wheel.

Both incidents were reported on Dec. 21, according to the department’s most recent activity blotter released this week.

The first incident reported by police involved Tara A. Salerno, 27, of Red Bank who was charged with driving while intoxicated after a crash on Route 35.

Salerno allegedly refused to submit to a breath test, drove carelessly and recklessly and was speeding, police said. She was arrested by Sgt. Matthew Lloyd.

Charles Howard, Jr., 60, of Aberdeen was charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash along Lakeshore Drive.

Police said Howard was charged with refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and several other motor vehicle offenses. Officer Frank Maisano made the arrest.
