Aberdeen Police: SUV Flips on Lower Main Street

See what kept the Aberdeen Police Department busy between July 31 and Aug. 6.

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 320 calls for service between July 31 and Aug. 6 2013, according to Chief John Powers. The incidents included 16 suspicious persons or vehicles, 18 alarms, 15 first aid calls, 10 motor vehicle crashes, four thefts, three domestic violence incidents, four disorderly persons, eight noise complaints, one robbery, three assaults and 121 motor vehicle stops, according to Powers. Officers also issued 119 motor vehicle summonses.

Theft

On July 31 an employee of the Singin gas station on Lower Main Street reported the theft of gasoline after a customer left without paying. Officer Mary Johnston investigated.

On Aug. 2 a worker reported someone took two truck batteries from a construction vehicle parked overnight on Route 35. Officer Michael Lasko responded.

On Aug. 6 a Warren Drive resident reported the theft of several landscaping blocks from his property. Officer Craig Hausmann responded. 

Car Accident

Officer John Zeller investigated a one-vehicle crash on Lower Main Street on Aug. 4. A 1999 Chevrolet Blazer operated by a 41-year-old Cliffwood Avenue man overturned while traveling east. There were no reported injuries. The driver was issued summonses for reckless driving and other motor vehicle violations.

Vandalism, Criminal Mischief

On July 31 a Greenwood Drive resident reported someone cut his cable television wires. Officer Michael Lasko investigated.

Officer Gus Grivas responded to a report of criminal mischief at Wagner’s Marina, Amboy Avenue on Aug. 6.

A 16-year-old Marlboro resident reported being shot with a pellet gun in the Aberdeen Townsquare Shopping Center on Route 34 on Aug. 6. There were no reported injuries. Officer Anthony Marone responded.

Fraud

On Aug. 1 Officer Edgar Serrano responded to a report of a forged check on South Atlantic Avenue.

On Aug. 2 an Ivy Hill Drive resident reported someone made unauthorized withdrawals from her bank account. Officer Jeffrey Griffith took the report.

On Aug. 3 a resident of Ferndale Pl. reported someone attempted to cash one of her checks. Officer Edgar Serrano took the report. 

On Aug. 6 a Prospect Ave. resident reported someone attempted to gain access to his online bank account. Officer John Zeller took the report.

Harassment

Officer Edgar Serrano responded to a report of harassment at Avalon apartments on Central Avenue on Aug. 3.
