Aberdeen Police Offer Snow Parking Rules Reminder

More snow possible on Tuesday

After Sunday’s snowfall—and with the threat of more accumulation Tuesday looming—Aberdeen police are reminding residents that parking on township streets is prohibited until plowing operations are “sufficiently” completed.

“Unoccupied vehicles in violation of the ordinance are subject to a summons and removal by police,” reads a news release issued by Chief John Powers.

The chief said that residents unsure of whether their street is subject to no parking or alternate side parking restrictions should check posted snow removal signs or the township website.

According to a list provided by Powers, parking is prohibited after snowfall on: Strathmore, Heather Glen, Santa Fe Junction, and The Orchards at Aberdeen.

If snow falls on a date with an even day, parking is permitted on the odd-numbered side of the street, according to the chief.

If snow falls on an odd day, parking is permitted on the even-numbered side of the street: Cliffwood, Cliffwood Beach, Oakshades, River Gardens, Train station area, High school area, and the Freneau/Woodfield area.

The chief notes that some streets in these areas are subject to full parking prohibition during a snowfall and drivers should always check signs before parking.
