Aberdeen Police: Generator Stolen from Myrtle Street Home

A look at recent police activity in Aberdeen Township.

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 394 calls for service between Aug. 28 and Sept. 3, 2013, including 20 suspicious persons or vehicles, 14 alarms, 15 first aid calls, seven motor vehicle crashes, three thefts, six disorderly persons, three domestic violence incidents, three criminal mischief incidents, six noise complaints, five burglaries and 210 motor vehicle stops, according to Police Chief John Powers. Officers also issued 134 motor vehicle summonses.

Here is a look at recent police activity in the township, as reported by Chief Powers:

  • On Aug. 28, Officer John Zeller investigated the attempted burglary of a residence on Sweetbriar Street.
  • On Aug. 29, a Matawan resident reported sometime during the night someone scratched her vehicle while it was parked on Prospect Avenue. Officer Darryl Richardson responded.
  • On Aug. 29, an Aberdeen Road resident reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle and removed a navigation device, sunglasses, and money. Officer Gus Grivas responded.
  • On Aug. 30, a Margaret Street resident found a male subject rummaging through his vehicle. The subject fled on foot. A quantity of cash was reported taken. Officer Martin Walsh investigated.
  • On Aug. 30, a Margaret Street resident reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle during the night. Nothing was taken. Office Darryl Richardson responded.
  • On Aug. 30, a Joyce Street resident reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle during the night and took cash. Officer John Zeller responded.
  • Officer Edgar Serrano investigated a report of a fraudulent prescription at the Shop Rite on Lloyd Road on Aug. 31.
  • On Aug. 31 a Myrtle Street resident reported the theft of a generator, power tools, a pool slide, and a pool cleaning robot from a shed sometime during the previous week. Officer Matthew McDow took the report.
  • Officer Craig Hausmann responded to a harassment incident on Lakeshore Drive on Sept. 1.
  • Officer Michael Lasko responded to a report of disorderly persons on Lorraine Drive on Sept. 1.
  • On Sept. 2, Officer John Young responded to a report of harassment on South Concourse.
  • On Sept. 2 Officer John Young responded to a report of threats and harassment on Sunset Way.
  • Officer Roger Peter responded to a report of disorderly persons on Route 35 near Cliffwood Avenue on Sept. 3.
  • Officer Michael Lasko responded to a report of damage to a work vehicle parked at the Verizon facility on Route 34 on Sept. 3.
