Aberdeen PD: Township Truck Battery Stolen, Burglaries and Attempted Burglaries Reported

Aberdeen Township Police activity between Sept. 19 and Sept. 25, 2012

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 325 calls for service between Sept. 19 and Sept. 25, 2012, including seven suspicious persons/vehicles; 13 alarms; 18 first aid calls; 14 motor vehicle crashes; eight thefts; three domestic violence incidents, five noise complaints; three criminal mischief incidents, ten disorderly persons, and 113 motor vehicle stops, according to Chief of Police John Powers. Officers also issued 83 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests Sept. 19, 2012 through Sept. 25 2012:

  • P.O. Raymond Campbell arrested a 23-year-old Old Bridge woman for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on September 19.
  • P.O. Darryl Richardson arrested a 21-year-old Aberdeen man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on September 19.
  • P.O. Darryl Richardson arrested a 38-year-old Aberdeen man for contempt of court out of Hazlet municipal court on September 20.
  • A 44-year-old Aberdeen man was charged with simple assault following an incident on Northland Lane on September 20.  P.O. Raymond Campbell was the arresting officer.
  • Erik A. Williams, 20, Aberdeen, was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Old Bridge municipal court on September 20 by P.O. Matthew Lloyd.  He was also charged with obstruction of justice.
  • Sgt. Hank Chevalier arrested a 65-year-old Aberdeen man for disorderly conduct at the township municipal building on September 21.
  • P.O. John Young arrested a 45-year-old Old Bridge woman for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on September 21.
  • Jose A. Martinez, 36, Perth Amboy, was charged by NJ Transit police with possession of heroin following an incident at the train station on September 21.  P.O. Christopher DeSarno assisted.
  • A 47-year-old Aberdeen man was charged with criminal mischief following an incident on West Concourse on September 21.  P.O. Christopher DeSarno was the arresting officer.
  • P.O. John Young arrested an 18-year-old Highlands woman for shoplifting at the Shop Rite store, Lloyd Rd., on September 22.
  • Rafael Sanchez, 22, Lower Main St., Aberdeen, was arrested on September 24 by Det. Sgt. Michael O’Dwyer for theft and receiving stolen property that took place on Lloyd Rd. in July.
  • P.O. Anthony Marone arrested a 26-year-old Hazlet man for contempt of court out of Neptune municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Cliffwood Ave. on September 25.
  • A 19-year-old township man was charged with obstruction of justice and a 50-year-old township man was charged with hindering apprehension following an incident on Woodland Dr. on September 25.  P.O. Gus Grivas and P.O. Matthew Lloyd were the arresting officers.

Other police activity during that period:

  • On September 19 a manager at McDonald’s, Hwy. 35, reported someone threw a brick through her car window. P.O. Martin Walsh took the report.
  • On September 19 a resident of Lorraine Drive reported her bicycle stolen.  P.O. Martin Walsh took the report.
  • On September 19 a resident of Imbrook Lane reported jewelry taken from her residence sometime between August 30 and September 16.  P.O. Gus Grivas investigated.
  • On September 20 P.O. John Zeller responded to a report of theft of gasoline from the WaWa store, Hwy. 35.
  • P.O. Christopher DeSarno responded to a report of harassing phone calls on Northland Lane on September 20.
  • A quantity of cash was reported taken in the burglary of a residence on Lower Main St. on September 21.  Entry was gained by removing a window air conditioning unit. P.O. Mary Johnston investigated.
  • On September 22 an Oxford Lane resident reported the theft of decorations from the exterior of her house.  P.O. John Young took the report.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko responded to a report of a disturbance at the WaWa store, Hwy. 35 on September 22.
  • On September 22 P.O. Mary Johnston responded to a report of juveniles fighting on Canfield Lane.
  • The owner of a house on Woodbine Drive reported that someone attempted to enter the residence on September 23 by prying open a window.  P.O. John Young investigated.
  • P.O. Anthony Marone responded to a report of a suspicious person on Greenwood Ave. on September 23.
  • On September 25 a resident of Cliffwood Ave. reported unauthorized charges to his ATM card.  P.O. Martin Walsh took the report.
  • A truck battery valued at $150 was reported stolen from the township Department of Public Works yard on Lenox Rd. sometime between September 13 and 25.  P.O. Martin Walsh took the report.
  • A pocketbook was reported taken from a vehicle parked on Gaston St. on September 25.  P.O. John Zeller responded.
