Aberdeen PD: Theft, Harassment

Aberdeen Township Police activity.

According to Chief of Police John Powers, the Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests Dec. 7 through Dec. 13:

  • On Dec. 8 Det. Hank Chevalier charged a 17-year-old township youth with possession of heroin.
  • Det. Michael Vaccaro arrested a 34-year-old resident of Staten Island, NY on Dec. 8 for violation of a court order. He was released on bail.
  • A 23-year-old Aberdeen resident was arrested by P.O. Edgar Serrano for possession of marijuana on Dec. 9.
  • P.O. Matthew McDow arrested a 35-year old resident of Passaic on Dec. 9 for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court. He was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of bail.
  • A 29- year-old township man was arrested by P.O. Vito Turchiano on Dec. 10 for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Cliffwood Avenue. He was released on bail.
  • P.O. John Young arrested an 18-year-old resident of Hazlet on Dec. 11 for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court. He was released on bail.
  • A 40-year-old Aberdeen resident was arrested on Dec. 11 by P.O. Michael Lasko for simple assault. She was released on bail.
  • P.O. Matthew McDow arrested a 51-year old resident of Aberdeen on Dec.12 for contempt of court out of Mansfield municipal court. She was turned over to Mansfield police.
  • A 50-year-old Matawan resident was arrested on December 12th by P.O. Christopher DeSarno for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court. She was released on bail.
  • A 48-year-old Marlboro resident was arrested on December 13th by Special Officer Michael Sullivan for contempt of court out of Monmouth County Superior Court following a motor vehicle stop on Highway 35. He was turned over to Monmouth County Sheriff’s Officers.

Other police activity during that period:

  • P.O. Craig Hausmann responded to a report of a suicidal individual on Atlantic Avenue on Dec. 7. The subject was transported to Riverview Medical Center.
  • On Dec. 8 a resident of Highfield Avenue reported harassing phone calls. P.O. Michael Lasko investigated.
  • A township resident reported on Dec. 8 that, sometime during the last three months, someone took approximately $4,500 worth of power tools from a storage facility on County Road. P.O. Jeffrey Griffith investigated.
  • On Dec. 8 a resident of Stevenson Avenue reported that someone had used her personal information to open a cellular phone account and purchase phones. P.O. Jeffrey Griffith investigated.
