Aberdeen PD: Suspicious Persons, Three Vehicle Accident

Aberdeen Police activity between April 11 and April 17, 2012

The Aberdeen Township Police Departmentresponded to or initiated 303 calls for service between April 11 and April 17, 2012, including eleven suspicious persons/vehicles; 15 alarms; 17 first aid calls; 13 motor vehicle crashes; four thefts; six disorderly persons; four domestic violence incidents; eight noise complaints; and 109 motor vehicle stops, according to Aberdeen Chief of Police John Powers. Officers issued 77 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests April 11, 2012 through April 17, 2012:

  • A 46-year-old Union Beach man was arrested by P.O. Darryl Richardson on April 13 for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • A 44-year-old Middletown man was arrested by P.O. Darryl Richardson on April 13 for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • P.O. Frank Maisano arrested a 22-year-old resident of Ivyhill Drive for disorderly conduct following an incident on Atlantic Ave. on April 13.
  • P.O. Jeffrey Griffith arrested a 38-year-old 7th Street man for simple assault on April 15.
  • An 18-year-old Marjorie Street man was charged with simple assault by P.O. Mary Johnston following an incident on April 14 at a Cliffwood Ave. residence.
  • A 41-year-old Nyack, NY woman was arrested by P.O. Louis Nanna on April 15 for simple assault following an incident at Avalon apartments on Central Ave.
  • A 28-year-old Aberdeen man was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose by P.O. Mary Johnston following an incident on April 16 at Tree Haven III apartments on Aberdeen Road.

  • On April 11 a resident of Lower Main St. reported his wallet containing cash was stolen from his unlocked vehicle while parked in front of his residence. P.O. Martin Walsh took the report.
  • On April 12 P.O. Martin Walsh responded to a report of criminal mischief at a vacant building on Lower Main St.
  • On April 12 P.O. Brian Alberti responded to a three-vehicle crash on South Atlantic Ave. A 27-year-old Matawan resident was treated at the scene for a minor injury. The 63-year-old driver of one vehicle was issued a summons for careless driving.
  • A resident of Arden Lane reported phone harassment on April 13. P.O. Martin Walsh responded.
  • On April 13 a Newland Place resident reported the theft of jewelry that was sent through the mail. P.O. Martin Walsh investigated.
  • On April 13 a Randall Way resident reported harassment by a neighbor.  P.O. Matthew Lloyd responded.
  • A Seventh St. resident reported the theft of cash on April 15. P.O. Craig Hausmann investigated.
  • On April 15 a resident of Welstead Way reported the theft of a refrigerator.  P.O. Raymond Campbell investigated.
  • On April 16 a Glenmere Way resident reported that two tires were slashed on her vehicle. P.O. Mary Johnston investigated.
  • A resident of Avalon apartments, Central Ave., reported a harassing text message on April 16. P.O. Matthew McDow investigated.
  • On April 17 P.O. Mary Johnston responded to a suspicious persons report on Woodmere Drive. The individuals were soliciting for a business and were issued summonses for soliciting without a permit.
