Aberdeen PD: Harassment, Theft

Aberdeen Township Police Department activity Jan. 16 through Jan. 23:

Officers responded to or initiated 353 calls for service between Jan. 16 and Jan. 23, including 10 suspicious persons/vehicles; 17 alarms; 17 first aid calls; three domestic violence incidents; 19 motor vehicle crashes; four thefts; and 126 motor vehicle stops, according to Aberdeen Chief of Police John Powers. Officers issued 88 motor vehicle summonses.

The made the following arrests Jan. 16 through Jan. 23:

  • A 40-year-old township man was arrested on Jan. 18 by P.O. Matthew McDow for simple assault at Tree Haven III apartments.
  • A 19-year-old Aberdeen resident was arrested by P.O. Edgar Serrano on Jan. 18 for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court. He was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institute in default of bail.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko arrested a 40-year-old township woman on Jan. 19 for contempt of court out of Union Beach municipal court.
  • P.O. Louis Nanna arrested a 40-year-old Red Bank man on Jan. 20 for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • A 50-year-old township resident was arrested by P.O. Martin Walsh on Jan. 21 for shoplifting at the Stop and Shop store Highway 34.
  • A 32-year-old township resident was arrested by P.O. Gus Grivas on Jan. 21 for shoplifting at the Stop and Shop store on Highway 34.
  • P.O. Martin Walsh arrested a 23-year-old township man on Jan. 22 for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court. He was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institute in default of bail.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko arrested a 23-year-old Asbury Park woman on Jan. 22 for contempt of court out of Ocean Township and Neptune Township municipal courts.

  • P.O. Martin Walsh responded to an assault report at Strathmore Gardens apartments on Jan. 16.
  • P.O. Jeffrey Griffith investigated an assault on Barbara Place on Jan. 17.
  • A Sunrise Avenue resident reported harassment on Jan. 18. P.O. Michael Lasko responded.
  • A burglary occurred at a residence P.O. Jeffrey Griffith took the initial report. Det. Hank Chevalier is continuing the investigation.
  • On Jan. 18 a Woodmere Drive resident reported the theft of her purse and cash. P.O. Jeffrey Griffith investigated.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko investigated a report of phone harassment made by an employee of a business on Cliffwood Avenue on Jan. 19.
  • On January 19th P.O. Michael Plant investigated a hit and run motor vehicle crash on Lloyd Road near Cypress Lane at 2:30 p.m. There were no injuries.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko investigated the parked at apartment complexes on Aberdeen Road on Jan. 20. Several power tools were taken.
  • P.O. Jeffrey Griffith responded to a reported theft at the Blue Rock Café, Amboy Avenue, on Jan. 21.
  • On Jan. 22 P.O. Michael Lasko responded to a report of harassing text messages at Avalon apartments on Central Avenue.
  • P.O. Martin Walsh investigated an incident of criminal mischief to a backhoe at a construction site on Highway 34 on Jan. 22.
  • P.O. Martin Walsh responded to a domestic violence incident at the Kentucky Fried Chicken store on Highway 34 on Jan. 22.
  • On Jan. 22 a resident of Brookview Lane reported that someone tried to break into his home shortly before midnight. P.O. Anthony Valentino investigated.
  • A burglary occurred at a P.O. Christopher DeSarno took the initial report. Det. Hank Chevalier is continuing the investigation.
