Aberdeen PD: Burglary, Eluding Police

Aberdeen police activity between Aug. 22 and Aug. 28

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 261 calls for service between Aug. 22 and Aug. 28, 2012, including seven suspicious persons/vehicles; 13 alarms; 15 first aid calls; six motor vehicle crashes; four thefts; two domestic violence incidents, four noise complaints; five criminal mischief incidents, eleven disorderly persons and 93 motor vehicle stops, according to Chief of Police John Powers. Officers also  issued 103 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests August 22, 2012 through August 28, 2012:

  • Special Officer Michael Scarpa arrested a 28-year-old Elm Place man for contempt of court out of Marlboro municipal court on August 22.
  • Special Officer Michael Scarpa arrested a 56-year-old Anna Ave. man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on August 22.
  • A 42- year-old Tinton Falls woman was arrested for disorderly conduct on August 22 following an incident on Cypress Court by P.O. Anthony Marone.
  • Devante S. Jones, 19, Monica St., Aberdeen, was charged with possession of marijuana, eluding police, obstruction of justice, and several motor vehicle offenses on August 23.  He was arrested on Greenwood Ave. by P.O. Anthony Marone, who was assisted by P.O. Edgar Serrano, P.O. Matthew McDow, and Sgt. Raymond Sosa.
  • On August 23 Kareem K. Gary, 32, Elizabeth, and Herman Rozier, 46, Linden, were charged with the July 10 , Lower Main St.  Sgt. Hank Chevalier was the arresting officer.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko arrested a 25-year-old Aberdeen woman for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on August 23.
  • P.O. Frank Maisano arrested a 30-year-old Aberdeen man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on August 24.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko arrested a 47-year-old Aberdeen woman for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on August 25.
  • A 45-year-old Bradley Beach man was arrested August 26 by P.O. John Zeller for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • A 23-year-old Sayreville man was arrested August 27 by P.O. Darryl Richardson for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • A 39- year-old Aberdeen man was arrested for disorderly conduct on August 27 following an incident at the A & P store, Highway 35 by P.O. Gus Grivas.
  • P.O. Matthew Lloyd arrested a 43-year-old Aberdeen man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on August 27.
  • P.O. Frank Maisano arrested a 29-year-old Flushing, NY man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on August 27.

  • On August 22 a resident of West Aspen Way reported someone used his debit card number to make fraudulent internet purchases.  P.O. John Young responded.  
  • On August 22 the owner of Mahzu restaurant, Highway 34, reported someone took cash from a tip jar.  P.O. Louis Nanna responded.
  • On August 22 an attendant at the WAWA store, Highway 35, reported someone took cash from his wallet.  P.O. Matthew McDow took the report.
  • A resident of Greenwood Ave. reported that someone punctured a tire on his vehicle on August 23.  P.O. Michael Lasko took the report.
  • On August 23 P.O. John Young investigated a report of harassment on Ingram Circle.
  • P.O. Anthony Valentino investigated an assault and criminal mischief on Cedar Place on August 24.
  • P.O. Darryl Richardson responded to a fraud report at the Shop Rite store, Lloyd Rd. on August 24.
  • On August 24 a resident of Prospect Ave. reported the theft of a sign from his property.  P.O. Martin Walsh investigated.
  • P.O. Darryl Richardson responded to a report of harassment on North Concourse on August 25.
  • P.O. Martin Walsh responded to a report of disorderly persons on Edgeview Rd. on August 26.
  • On August 27 a Faith Lane resident reported damage to the sideview mirror on her vehicle.  P.O. Darryl Richardson investigated.
  • On August 27 a resident of Brookview Lane reported two bicycles stolen from the front porch of the residence.  P.O. Darryl Richardson took the report.
  • A vehicle reported stolen out of Staten Island, NY was recovered at a business on County Rd. on August 27.  P.O. Martin Walsh investigated.
  • P.O. John Young investigated the theft of a bicycle at Ross Field on August 28.
