Aberdeen Township Police activity between May 2 and May 8

Editor’s note: The following information was obtained from the Aberdeen Township Police Department. An arrest does not indicated a conviction.

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 313 calls for service between May 2 and May 8, 2012, including 14 suspicious persons/vehicles; 13 alarms; 23 first aid calls; 14 motor vehicle crashes; five thefts; six disorderly persons; seven domestic violence incidents; four noise complaints; and 85 motor vehicle stops, according to Chief of Police John Powers. Officers also issued 58 motor vehicle summonses.

Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests May 2, 2012 through May 8, 2012:

  • On May 2 Sgt. Hank Chevalier arrested a 38-year-old Mount Holly man for theft related to an incident on 7th Street that occurred on April 15.
  • A 34-year-old township man was arrested by P.O. Matthew McDow on May 2 for contempt of court out of Holmdel municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Cliffwood Ave.
  • On May 3 Sgt. Hank Chevalier arrested Imran T. Ivery, 27, Irvington, on Highway 35 on March 28.
  • On May 4 P.O. Matthew Lloyd arrested a 25-year-old Keansburg woman for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko charged Walter R. Munico, 39, of County Road, Aberdeen, with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident condominium complex, County Rd.
  • On May 6 P.O. Christopher DeSarno arrested a 20-year-old East Orange man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • On May 8 P.O. Louis Nanna arrested a 46-year-old South Amboy woman for contempt of court out of Sayreville municipal court.
  • On May 8 P.O. Matthew McDow arrested a 33-year-old Aberdeen woman for contempt of court out of Wall municipal court and for hindering her apprehension following an incident on Highway 35.
  • P.O. Edgar Serrano arrested a 22-year-old Carteret man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on May 8.

Other police activity during that period:

  • On May 2 P.O. Craig Hausmann investigated a report of harassment on South Atlantic Ave.
  • An attendant at the BP gas station on Highway 34 reported he was threatened by two juveniles on May 3. P.O. Craig Hausmann investigated.
  • Two sections of benches were removed from a set of bleachers at Ross Field sometime between April 23 and May 3.  P.O. John Young responded.
  • On May 4 P.O. Christopher DeSarno took a report of harassing phone calls made to an Ardmore Lane resident.
  • P.O. Raymond Campbell responded to a report of a suspicious person on Irongate Lane on May 5.
  • On May 6 a resident of Lower Main St. reported her shed had been spray-painted and lawn equipment stolen.  P.O. Martin Walsh investigated.
  • On May 7 a resident of Sweetbriar St. reported the theft of her of money and electronics from his unlocked vehicle.  P.O. Martin Walsh investigated.
  • Aberdeen Township Police are investigating the that took place between May 6 and May 8, 2012.  Entry was gained through a sliding door while the residents were away. Anyone with information should contact the detective bureau at 732-566-2054.  P.O. Mary Johnston investigated.
