Aberdeen PD Blotter: Simple Assault, Theft, Fraud

Aberdeen Township Police activity, Aug. 15 - Aug. 18

The Aberdeen Township Police responded to or initiated 94 calls for service between Aug. 17 and A. 18, including one domestic violence incident, five suspicious persons/vehicles, six alarms, two first aid calls, two motor vehicle crashes, two thefts, and forty-one motor vehicle stops.

Here is a list of police activity, as reported by the Aberdeen Township Police:

  • Eric Davis, 21, of Keansburg, was arrested for simple assault
    on Aug. 15 by Officer Raymond Campbell at the A & P store on
    Highway 35. Bail was set at $2,500 with no 10% and he was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default.
  • On Aug. 17 a maintenance worker at Matawan Terrace apartments reported the theft of two 18”X18” aluminum signs valued at $80.00 from the property. Officer Gus Grivas responded.
  • On Aug. 17 a Shadynook St. resident reported the fraudulent use of his ATM card. Special Officer Michael Scarpa investigated.
  • A resident of Sherwood Dr. reported that sometime between Aug. 12 and Aug. 18 someone stole one of his checks and cashed it. Officer Louis Nanna investigated. 
  • Officer Craig Hausmann investigated a report of phone harassment on Gerard Ave. on Aug. 18.
  • Sometime between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Aug. 18 someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on West Prospect Ave. and removed an Ipod valued at $200. Officer Edgar Serrano investigated.
