Aberdeen Township Police activity from Sept. 9 - Sept. 11

On Sept. 9 at approximately 5:19 p.m., Aberdeen Township Police responded to a three vehicle accident on Atlantic Avenue in Aberdeen.

Police say that Ashley Lee, 24, of Aberdeen rear-ended a 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier, causing the Cavalier to rear-end a 2011 Mitshubishi Outlander.

According to Chief of Police John Powers, it appeared that the Malibu and Outlander were stopped in a line of traffic when Lee rear-ended the Cavalier with her 2003 Chevrolet Malibu.

No serious injuries were reported, although the driver of the Outlander did indicate to police that she had neck pain and was going to take herself to a local hospital.

Officer Brian Alberti investigated the accident. Lee was issued a summons for careless driving.

Between Sept. 9 and Sept. 11, Aberdeen Township Police responded to or initiated 111 calls for service, including two domestic violence incidents, four suspicious persons/vehicles, four alarms, ten first aid calls, four motor vehicle crashes, three disorderly persons calls, four noise complaints, and twenty-four motor vehicle stops, according to Police Chief John Powers.

Here is a list of police activity and arrests as reported by the Aberdeen Township Police Department:

  • On Sept. 9, a resident of West Prospect Ave. reported harassing phone messages. Officer Raymond Campbell responded.
  • Darshana D. Patel, 30, of Matawan, was arrested by P.O. Matthew Lloyd on Sept. 10 on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen Municipal Court. She was released after posting bail.
  • Blondie T. Alexander, 30, of Aberdeen, was arrested on Sept. 10 on contempt of court warrants out of Perth Amboy, Union Township, and Aberdeen Municipal Courts following a motor vehicle stop on Highway 35 at 12:50 AM. She was released after posting bail. Officer Raymond Campbell made the arrest.
  • Ryan A. Cololla, 28, of Keyport, was arrested on Sept. 11 on a contempt of court warrant out of Aberdeen Municipal Court. He was released after posting bail. Officer Mary Johnston made the arrest.
  • A resident of the Avalon apartment complex on Central Ave. reported on September 11, 2011 he was harassed and shoved in a dispute with another man over a parking space. Officer Michael Lasko investigated.
  • Officer Louis Nanna investigated a report of harassment of an employee of the Kentucky Fried Chicken store, Highway 34, on Sept. 11.
